In this live webinar, representatives from the BC Health Authorities will share valuable insights into their programs for new graduate nurses, including their hiring processes, available employment opportunities, and key timelines. Stability and Clarity for New Graduates Beginning Their Careers

Informed by feedback from recent graduates, a collaborative initiative with the BC Health Authorities was launched in 2023. This initiative established a standardized support program for all RN and RPN new graduates employed by a health authority. This program ensures that all stable, consistent schedule for their first 6 months of employment. Other key features of the program include:

  • A guaranteed 6-month consolidation period at a minimum of 0.7 FTE.
  • Full benefits and employment status for the duration of the first 6 months.

To be eligible for these programs new graduates must commence employment with a BC public health employer within 18 months of completing a Canadian RN or RPN education program.
